With the holidays right around the corner, festive themed events will always be in demand; which means that there’s already many holiday events planned for this November and December around Somerset county. From markets to workshops and even concerts, there’s something for everyone to do this holiday season in Somerset.

Walk around inside the Kringle Market in Hillsborough this December 9th & 10th to shop for the holiday season. Hosted in the Carriage farm, sort through items made by hand-picked artisans and support the community. With music performed by the Flounder’s Brass Band as well as appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, this event is great for the whole family!

Make sure to also stop by the Ted Blum 4-H Center in Bridgewater for a two day holiday craft festival on December 9th and 10th. Look at handmade crafts from local artisans, take pictures with Santa, and participate in a gingerbread contest!

If you’re interested in crafts, there’s many events around Somerset that’ll fit your needs! Craft a Holiday Kissing Ball at the Colonial Parks Gardens with evergreen and fresh floral, provided by the staff.

Registration is $65 per person & pre-registration is required.

If making ornaments isn’t your cup of tea, you can make a holiday card for friends and family at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster (This is an event for those aged 14 and up). Bring your own art medium like watercolor, color pencil, or acrylic to create the perfect card for the holidays!

Get into the holiday spirit with the Brook Orchestra at the Holiday Pops Concert in the Brook Arts Center. Performing holiday classics, tickets are only $10-$20 each & also include preferred seating.

FHS students are already excited about this holiday season, a senior stating “Holiday crafts sound fun, as well as going to markets” when asked about what festive activity they are looking forward to doing later this year.

No matter how you celebrate the holidays, there’s always something you can attend nearby!
