As we come to the beginning of a new month, something else is starting: Spring! With this fun season comes warmer weather, blooming flowers, opportunities to wear lighter clothes, outdoor adventures, and more. Though we unfortunately cannot forget about allergies, there is much to look forward to this season!

At FHS, there are as many different perspectives on spring as there are voices in the halls. Latin teacher Mr. Kostovny expresses that when he thinks of Spring he feels a sense of hope; he looks forward to conquering the final marking period while enjoying the warmer weather outside. For him, the season is an invitation to ‘tiptoe through the tulips,’ to spend more time outside, and to truly take in the environment.
Students like Nikola Osinski share this enthusiasm, saying “I love the warm weather and being outside. I also love getting ice cream, since it’s finally warm enough to enjoy it.”
Nevertheless, there are those that don’t enjoy the season as much. When asked how they feel about the spring, one FHS sophomore shared a different view, “I hate it because the weather is bipolar and I get allergies and it’s just a very miserable time of the year with the rain, and even worse, it’s testing season.”

The warmer weather means more chances to spend time outdoors and participate in other activities that are missed out on during the colder months. From gardening, hiking, and visiting farmers markets or botanical gardens to picnicking, getting ice cream, playing sports or just simply taking a walk, there is so much to do and so much to enjoy this season!
So make an effort to enjoy the season! Be outside, spend time with family and friends, or just do whatever you enjoy — just don't forget to bring your allergy medication!
