Just around the corner is a day commonly known as the holiday to celebrate romantic love, friendship, and admiration. February 14 is Valentine’s Day or also known as Saint Valentine’s Day. On this day, both simple and grand gestures are made all around the world as an effort to express one’s love for another without cost being significant. Who’s your valentine? To love someone has no limitations and extends itself both platonically and romantically. The special expression of “Will you be my valentine?” has been a sweet tradition that lets the other person know that they are considered, and a token of each other’s love will be exchanged on February 14. Anyone can be another’s Valentine, regardless of relationship status; it is a way of making a small act of kindness to show appreciation. As a whole, everyone has a lot of love to give, and it is important to let those special people know, and to even recognize it for ourselves as well.
Around 2010, a new way to celebrate Valentine’s Day emerged, known as Galentine’s Day. Similar to Valentine’s Day, girls gather together with their friends to celebrate their friendship. Regardless of if someone is celebrating Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, or both, there are so many exciting ways to do so. Going out to eat, to the movies, having a picnic or game night, whether it is a night in or out, it is always special. On such a day of love, the five love languages are heightened and conveyed in a multitude of ways. Making or buying personalized gifts, flowers, chocolates, sweets, etc, can all be great to show that special someone that they are adored.
