Lucio Leonardo Benamer writes about the ground-breaking revelations regarding the Bundesliga title.

When Bayern Munich won their 23rd Bundesliga title in the 2012-2013 season, not a lot of people were surprised. But Bayern Munich also secured their first ever Treble that season, which is when a team wins a European competition, their domestic league, and their national cup competition. Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and the annual UEFA Champions League engraved their team of superstars into history. Bayern Munich would thrash FC Barcelona 7-0 over two legs in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, they would promptly dispatch Borussia Dortmund in the final, winning 2-1. That season would mark the first time a German club ever managed to obtain a treble, but people were unable to predict what was going to happen next.
Before 2013, the Bundesliga title had a particularly hard time having a consistent winner. The Bundesliga winner would flip-flop almost every season. In 2012 and 2011, it was Borussia Dortmund, in 2010 it was Bayern Munich, and in 2009 it was VfL Wolfsburg. It was common for a team to win the Bundesliga one to maybe three times in a row before the torch was passed onto yet another club. But 2013 would mark the beginning of the Bundesliga’s worst nightmare. Bayern would proceed to win 11 Bundesliga titles in a row over the next 11 years.
