Dessert Recipes To Try For Valentines This Year

Written by: Angelise Hernandez

February is considered the month of love, so why not bake delicious sweet treats at home for your loved ones as a form of appreciation for them? Here are some recipes to try at home!

Recipe #1: Red Velvet Cake Balls

Ingredients:

  • Betty Crocker Red Velvet Cake Mix

  • Eggs

  • Oil

  • Water/Milk

  • Betty Crocker Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

  • White chocolate chips/any of choice

Directions:

  1. Prepare your cake by following the package instructions in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Pour the cake batter into a greased baking dish at 350 degrees F in an oven until it is baked.

  3. Once the cake is fully cool, crumble it in a large bowl or in the baking dish that it’s in. Set aside ⅓ of crumbled cake for decoration (optional).

  4. Stir frosting into crumbled cake, then cover with plastic wrap and freeze until chilled.

  5. With a cookie scoop or estimation, roll the mixture into small balls that are evenly sized and put them on a large baking sheet. Freeze again until they are solid.

  6. Take them out, then place balls on a cookie sheet.

  7. Melt candy melts/chocolates in the microwave for 30 seconds.

  8. Place balls into a fork and dip into melted chocolate. Tap the fork onto the bowl to get rid of excess chocolate. Put them back on the cookie sheet and add the 1/3 leftover cake crumble on top. Repeat for all the cake balls.

  9. Let the cake balls sit at room temperature until solid and enjoy! :-)
