Disney's Hoppers Movie Review

Are you looking for a movie to watch with friends or family? Well, Disney and Pixar’s newest animated film, Hoppers could be your choice! The movie's message is about how important it is to protect the environment and it’s shown to be possible through teamwork and friendship.

Released on March 6, Hoppers is about a young woman in college named Mabel who deeply cares about the environment but she learns that a forest nearby is going to be destroyed to make room for a highway. Although she tries to spread awareness to others, no one seems to care. She learns about a tech device that allows her to put her consciousness into a robot beaver so she can communicate with other animals to dive deeper into this forest situation. The movie gradually becomes more intense as she soon discovers that the animals are indeed in danger and she tries her best to save the environment. 

In my opinion, Hoppers is a meaningful movie that wants to raise awareness of real world issues. Environmental destruction is a real thing that happens daily, and this movie informs children about that, but also commits to adding humor and fun. I also admire how they turn Mabel into a beaver because it’s almost as if they’re trying to visualize the saying “Imagine being in their shoes.” Freshman Taylor Allen gave the movie a 9 out of 10. “I feel like it could be appropriate for kids,” she says, “and the movie shows Mabel's values, which are understanding animals and protecting the environment. The movie is very interesting over-all.”

Regular viewers have both positive and slightly negative opinions. A common opinion is that the movie is “weird and whimsical but still really enjoyable”. Some others say the story feels rushed, but overall most viewers agree that it is a fun and meaningful movie with a strong message to go along with it.

In conclusion, Hoppers is a creative, entertaining film that has meaning behind its silliness of animals talking with each other. It portrays a unique story about understanding others and the environment. Even though the movie has some flaws, it has still been praised because of its originality, and now stands out as a unique Pixar film that interests kids and adults.
