Have you ever wanted to spill your GUTS? Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer-songwriter and actress who started her singing career with the release of her freshman album, SOUR. Her fame only increased with the release of her second album GUTS. Following the release, she announced tour dates for the GUTS World Tour, ranging from February 24, 2024 to August 17, 2024 and traveling almost everywhere between North America and Europe.

I traveled almost 1,140 miles to see what the hype is all about, and this is what I have to say. I went to the show in New Orleans, Louisiana, which opened with Chappell Roan. Chappell Roan sang 9 songs from her most recent album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, including her biggest hits, HOT TO GO!, Pink Pony Club, and Red Wine Supernova. Chappell Roan quickly caught my attention as well as the crowds, with her upbeat and fun music style. She sang beautifully and her vocals were amazing despite her constant dancing and movement. This shows so much talent because of the challenges most singers face when it comes to moving while singing since it can affect how your voice comes out. I really enjoyed Chappell Roan and even knew some of her songs.

Afterward, there was a projection of candles melting on the screen that read, “GUTS”. These candles melted down, and when they all fell over, the crowd went wild. About 18,000 people from everywhere gathered in one room to watch their favorite singer live. Olivia opened with the song, Bad Idea right?, with the crowd almost singing over her. After this, she started to sing a few slower songs, for example, The Grudge, and Teenage Dream. Within the mix of songs, she incorporated 9 of 11 songs from her freshman album, SOUR, excluding 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back, and hope ur ok. She got lifted in a moon that would make its way around the crowd while singing logically, and enough for you.

All in all, this was a wonderful trip to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience watching her perform. I look forward to what comes next in this all-star artist's musical career.
