Here We Come A-Caroling: FHS Madrigals Perform in the Halls

Writer: The Warrior StaffThe Warrior Staff

The FHS Madrigals carol in the Halls of Franklin High School today, December 23, 2022. This is a long standing tradition at FHS and is something that students and staff look forward to each December.

Madrigals became popular during the Renaissance period in Europe, and are performed a cappella, with two to eight voices. This is why Madrigal became the surname of the family in Disney's Encanto.

Students sing traditional carols, which reflect this time period and wore period appropriate costumes to help complete the look. Songs such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," which was originally translated and published as we know it today in 1851.
