Hungry? The School Store has Snacks!

Lorraine shares what the School Store has to offer students.

Craving a snack during class? In need of some Warrior gear? Head down to the school store in D129. All of the snacks students could possibly dream of can be found there, and they’re almost all a dollar! From Gushers, to Oreos, Little Bites, Ice, to Brisks, the school store’s got it. The store is student run, and overseen by Mrs. Benesz. It is a great opportunity for students to add some experience on both resume and college applications.

Working in the school store teaches students the importance of responsibility, time management, and money skills. Employees of the school store are also tasked with creating the schedules for the store as well as flyers and promotions. It’s not just restocking and counting money, but a collaborative effort. Many of the students who currently work the store during the school day are Marketing III or Independent Study students. The school store helps these students to further their skill and expertise in advertising and promotion as well as the core teachings of marketing. Students don’t have to just be a marketing student to work at the school store during after school hours.

Applications offered during club rush to work after school on Tuesdays and Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30. The school store is open for business during periods 1, 2, 4, as well as 7 and 8 (except during lunch blocks), so make sure to pop in if you’re in need of a pick me up.
