Throughout out the year, members of the FHS robotics teams have worked diligently to create their robots with the limited funds and resources available to them. They were supported by club advisors Dr. Bitko and Mr. Catzer. Students could be found in the robotics room multiple days a week, tinkering and building.
Their efforts paid off on February 22nd when the club finally hosted their first VEX robotics competition at their home school. The competition was a huge success - with a total of 39 robots from various schools across New Jersey participating. It was an important milestone for our school to be able to host our very own competition.
And the robotics club was not alone.Various JROTC volunteers came to provide support and help out. When asked about his feelings on the competition, Major Chen from JROTC responded, “It was an exciting and memorable opportunity. “
Another interviewee was Rohan Kalidas, President of the club.
