Put the Pep in Your Rally: FHS' First Step into the New Year!
The Pep Rally at FHS on Friday, September 11, 2026 was full of decorations, loud music, just full of joy and laughter. The FHS athletes performed for the rest of the students in the gymnasium with loud music and other fun entertaining games. The purpose of this Pep Rally was to have fun as a whole school.
The Pep Rally was a celebration of the fall athletes and everything they’ve accomplished this season. They are granted a thirty second window for celebration before they disperse into said crowd. Games like Tug of War, Song Quiz, and Balloon Race were played in between introductions to keep up the crowd’s energy. It’s a way to entertain students and as well as advertise the sports demonstrated.

Junior FHS football player Xavier Anderson-Albert said, "I felt excited because I’ve [been in the Pep Rally] all the other years, and it gets better each time. I have fun with my teammates. This was one of the best moments with the team. The only thing we planned ahead was the flips in the beginning.” He was excited about being a part of a pep rally with his team.
Senior Captain of the Franklin High School Competition and Performance Dance Team, Jayla Davis, shared how the team got ready before the pep rally. She said, “We had a practice two days before where we went over the routine we would be performing, and our walkout onto the court.” They performed their HipHop routine to “Onnat” by American Rapper, Latto and hyped up the crowd, showing their school spirit at Franklin High School. All of their work paid off, as FHS Freshman, Zoey Summer said, “she loved watching the dancers. She also liked being able to cheer for them as they danced. It is wonderful when students can appreciate the hard work and dedication that their peers put into their extracurricular activities.
The cheerleaders and dancers were a fan-favorite part of the Pep Rally. Guadalupe Lopez Ortiz, FHS Freshman said “The cheerleaders and dancers dancing were good, I just wished there were more of them.” I just dont like how we can’t see them.” Perhaps this was because from where she was sitting, the dancers were facing the other direction. The cheerleading coach, Lindsay DelPiano Grant said “It takes a lot of time and effort, but it was rewarding to see the progress the cheerleaders make and watch everything come to life.” This makes me feel like she loves teaching them and slowly becomes better than before in her eyes and the progress. FHS Cheerleader, Chayse Cotton said “I love cheering with all my heart, I have always been a cheerleader ever since I was younger.” The cheer team is an integral part of the Pep Rally, as they help keep students energized and excited for what is to come!
The Pep Rally was an overwhelming success. FHS Soccer Player, Kaylee Winfrey, who first started playing in middle school said, “I feel like the Pep Rally was very fun and it's a very nice idea, it's just really hot!”
That’s not the end of school spirit for Franklin High School. Get ready for Homecoming in October, which features a spirit week, the homecoming dance, and lastly the most anticipated football game. Students will also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with trivia, dancing, and assemblies!
