Safe Halloween '25 at Franklin High School

Written by Kayla Clark

It's that time of the year! This year's Safe Halloween, on Friday October 31st, is an exciting event held annually during the spooky season. This event takes place in the Franklin High School's Events Lobby and Cafeteria, where students will come dressed up in their Halloween costumes, as well as staff and volunteers getting into the Halloween spirit! Be ready to see fun activities including face painting and slime making. And of course delicious candy you can’t forget!

We will be interviewing staff members to hear the significance behind Safe Halloween and why it's so important to our community. We'll also be talking to people attending the event, seeing the inspiration behind costumes this Halloween, and asking what the favorite activity this year was & why!

Three students gave their input on their opinion on why this year was such a good one. Senior Lola Raji president of Speech and Debate Club claims, "It was my last year so I knew we had to make the most of it!¨:One of Want T.V´s cameramen, Junior Huntyr Jones said, "I love seeing all the cool costumes - every year there's something new and exciting." Lastly, Senior Joshua Katz, events coordinator of Speech and Debate club added, "This was my first year doing Safe Halloween. I had so much fun! It was nice being able to put smiles on the kids' faces."

So many clubs with different activities!  Aviation made their own haunted airplane super creative and fun for the young ones to enjoy. JROTC had fun activities like bean bag tosses which the kids enjoyed. As well as Speech and Debate Club having a slime station where some slimes were ¨cursed¨ telling a spooky scary story, children having to choose the right slime.

Overall, this year's Safe Halloween was an amazing experience as well as an opportunity for the community to come together. From student volunteers, to teachers, advisors, and younger children all coming together for this event. All the fun food, games, and music made this an unforgettable Halloween. Until next year Franklin!
