Spirited: Film Review

Alyaa reviews new holiday film, Spirited, produced by Apple TV+.

As Christmas is on the way and the New year, nothing is better than starting off with a comedy holiday movie such as Spirited. Spirited is a 2022 American Christmas comedy film directed by Sean Anders and written and produced by Anders and John Morris. Along with starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer. The movie is about Every Christmas Eve, the Christmas Gift Spirit (Will Ferrell) chooses a dark soul to reform through three spirit visits. But this season he chose the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) transforms into a ghostly host until he finds the present reexamining his past, present and future.

So far the movie, Spirited, is rated 6.6/10 on IMDB and 69% on Rotten Tomatoes as it is still starring in the movie theater. An exciting film concept that flips the classic story of A Christmas Carol upside down. Featuring a phenomenal cast, the film explores the ideas of making ripples, following our destinies, and how we must be ok with facing our pasts. The ending is rather strange, yet unexpected. Followed by a musical, Will Ferrel and Ryan Reynolds' singing styles make this buddy comedy unique and humorous. Audiences can expect some crude jokes, profanity used in some characters and songs, alcohol consumption, drug references, and some adult content.

Spirited isn't for younger kids, but it's a fun holiday movie for older teens. According to rotten tomatoes Thelma Adams, a AARP movies for Grownup wrote her review on the movie she said, “It’s a funny, bouncy romp with strong singing and dancing talent and just the right touch of snark to please any Scrooge.” The movie, Spirited, spread a great holiday vibe in every house who had watched it. And we can not wait to see more from our favorite duos Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds known as in the movie the christmas Gift spirit and Cling Briggs.
