It has been 20 years since the movie release of a well beloved story of a human Elf, starring Will Ferrell. In celebration of this upcoming anniversary, Buddy the elf, is paying a visit to local theaters starting November 17th and continuing throughout December. This holiday favorite has the ability to awaken the long-overdue Christmas spirit. Reliving Buddy's adventures can allow the cinemagoers to experience the thrill of nostalgia, imagining watching the movie for the first time again.

Just in time for the holidays, a family tradition is now appearing on the big screen. The film ‘Elf’ is a beloved Christmas comedy. Buddy the Elf is a human who was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a baby and then raised by Santa’s elves. After feeling like a misfit his whole life, unsure as to why he was so abnormal compared to the other elves, the news was broken to him during his adulthood. In hopes of finding somewhere he belonged, and in search of his real father, he headed to the harsh city of New York. Being full of Christmas cheer and innocence, he was quickly faced with a bitter reality. Feeling unaccepted and estranged from his dad and the world surrounding him, he gets reminded of who he is after being tasked to help others believe. This light-hearted movie is an easy watch and a good reminder of what Christmas should feel like. If an individual needs help getting in the Christmas spirit, this would be a great way to start.

As a whole, Elf teaches watchers the lessons of not taking others for granted, spreading love, and being genuine. Throughout the film, Buddy is misjudged and seen as a joke for dressing like an elf, being told he should dress normally. As long as Buddy knew who he truly was, that is all that matters, and he made that evident during his journeys. Elf can be the friendly nudge for some to recognize these lessons as well. There is no better way to watch this family favorite than in theaters.
