At Franklin High School, winter fashion isn’t just about staying warm - it’s about making a statement. The hallways are filled with fresh trends that combine comfort, style, and practicality, providing that staying cozy does not mean sacrificing cool. As students embark on a journey of self-discovery, they express themselves through their sense of style. However, there are certain clothing styles that are seeing noticeable popularity—oversized hoodies, leggings, and Lululemon tops are the unofficial uniform for teens this season. Their sleek yet comfortable designs make them perfect for lounging in class or going out after school. Baggy jeans and well-fitting shirts are another staple, often found in bold colors. Tucked into UGG boots or paired with sneakers, the look is both casual and effortlessly stylish. Shoes at FHS are all about versatility. Nike Air Force 1 and New Balance 550 are the go-to sneakers that offer a timeless vibe that goes with everything. On cold days, UGG boots rule, especially the platform ones, which provide the perfect combination of warmth and fashion. FHS students choose moderate or extreme accessories depending on their personal preference. Yet, Stanley cups have obviously become an everyday necessity, acting as both a thirst quencher and a fashion statement. Students also carry cross-body bags, adding an extra touch of personality to their outfits. So if you walk the halls of FHS this winter, expect to see trendy looks like crop tops worn underneath, paired with black leggings, because at our school, fashion comes before staying warm.
Interview with Jessica Macias Velez: “This is very accurate. You’ll see people with all kinds of styles, mostly in hoodies with black leggings, even if it’s freezing outside. It’s all about looking good, even if you’re shivering.”
