Shay Patel writes about Jalen Hurts's comeback after his Superbowl LVII loss.

After a heartbreaking defeat in Super Bowl 57, Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts has
transformed his pain into motivation, which allowed him to dominate in Super Bowl 59. Even in the loss to Kansas City, Jalen Hurts had 374 passing yards and 4 total touchdowns. Prior to
this win, Hurts reflected on the lessons learned from Super Bowl 57, using it as a driving force to help bring him and his team back to the championship stage. This time, with the addition of Saquon Barkley, the league’s top running back, who has 442 rushing yards and 5 touch- downs this postseason, Hurts will not only avenge his loss but prove that he is an elite NFL quarterback and earn a Super Bowl ring.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl 57 loss was due to Jalen Hurts’ fumble in the second quarter, which led to a Nick Bolton defensive touchdown, a lack of defensive pressure on Mahomes, and a controversial holding call on James Bradberry, which led to a Harrison Butker game-winner. Hurts was devastated, but his mindset was not one of defeat. Instead, he found fuel to win Super Bowl 59.
As Hurts came into the 2024-2025 season, there’s been no doubt that the Super Bowl 57 loss added a layer of intensity to his work ethic. The Eagles have a great team, including an elite O-line, stacked wide receivers, and a great coaching staff with Siranni, Moore, and Fangio. Jalen Hurts’ goal from the start of the season was to show that he can win a Super Bowl and take his team over the hump. But this time, in the Super Bowl, it’s a rematch against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, one of the best teams in the NFL.
