Virtual School Again. At Least for the time being.

Josh explores Virtual Learning for 2022 and questions our return to In Person Education.

The COVID-19 Omicron Variant continues to rage across the globe, especially the United States. It feels like normal life is coming to a halt once again. One thing for certain is that we are back at home for school as many people get infected with the Omicron Variant. It might be tough to adjust to returning to what life was like at this point last year.

Don’t worry Franklin, we will be back in the building, and in the classroom before you know it!

Yet again, some American schools abruptly changed their plans from in person to virtual school as the Omicron Variant sweeps the nation. With records are broken every single day with cases, many of us don’t feel safe going back to school to start 2022. That is why many schools, including Franklin, are temporarily pivoting to remote learning for approximately two weeks. As of January 2nd, 2022, more than 4,700+ schools were shut down according to a site called Burbio. That is a lot of schools.

Who knows how long it will take for us to be back in the classroom?

Not only is the rise of the Omicron Variant making us absent from school, staffing shortages are also making a huge impact on our school, with the shortage of substitute teachers, clerical staff, bus drivers, etc.

Currently the plan is to be back Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Maybe we will be out for longer, but who knows?
